Titles you should include in an opening sequence!
When you have an opening sequence to a movie the first thing you see will be the titles, the titles are there to tell you what roles people do and the crew, these are important for a number of reasons which I will be talking about.
Firstly we see the distribution company, this is shown in: The sixth sense, Brick and Memento, a key example would be in sixth sense, the distribution companies logo appears on the screen first, this is telling you the audience who distributes the film itself, however there is different companies for different genres of film, so the distributors of the Sixth Sense would be different to the distributors of Memento.

We then go on to see the Production company logo, a production company logo is used to tell the audience who produces the movie, for us as the audience to watch. All movies have a production company, otherwise the movie wouldn't be able to be produced and we wouldn't be able to watch it the key examples which I've been looking at is Memento, whose production company is: Newmarket Capital group, Team Todd, I Remember Productions, Summit Entertainment. Then we Have for Brick we have Bergman Lustig Productions, also for The Sixth sense we have, Spyglass Entertainment. These examples show that all the companies have a production company meaning that it is an important factor within the opening titles.

We then notice that the roles of people appear on the screen, however the first role is the most important (Conventionally) this is shown in Brick, where the lead role is shown when Joseph Gordon-Levitt appears on screen which will be showing that he has the leading role and the main cast member, again this is also shown in Memento where the main cast member appears in the titles called Guy Pearce, this again is showing that he has the lead role, finally in the Sixth Sense we see that Bruce Willis is shown on screen on his own, representing that he is the main character in the movie itself.
In the sixth sense we then see the clip continuing and two more roles are presented on screen which are showing that they may not be lead roles however they're just important, this is also seen in the other clips ( Brick and Memento) however the number of actresses and actors may differ. This is usually followed by other characters depending on how important their roles are. As the cast goes on we usually see the least important roles in the movie. As the clip continues we start to see the order of production, however as this continues, we see that it is the least important roles first: Costume Design, Music Editing, Production designer, Director of photography A.S.C, Executive Producer, Producer, Written and Directed by). The Written part means that the movie has been made up an is unique.
